What are the benefits of using either Hadoop or HBase or Hive ? From my understanding, HBase avoids using map-reduce and has a column oriented storage on top of HDFS. Hive is a sql-like interface for Hadoop and HBase. I would also like to know how Hive compares with Pig. 17 Answers 17

I assume you’re running Hadoop on 64bit CentOS. The reason you saw that warning is the native Hadoop library $HADOOP_HOME/lib/native/libhadoop.so.1.0.0 was actually compiled on 32 bit. Anyway, it’s just a warning, and won’t impact Hadoop’s functionalities.
