Is there a simple way to determine if a variable is a list, dictionary, or something else? I am getting an object back that may be either type and I need to be able to tell the difference. 1 15

My understanding of strongly typed was that the language wouldn’t make implicit type conversions. However, this code converts the char to it’s ascii value and then uses that value. static char x = ‘j’; static int y = 7; public static void main(String[] args){ System.out.println(y+x); }
I’ve seen similar behaviour in the past and know of two possible reasons: Your build path has somehow changed, leaving out your Node class, or the project providing it has compile errors, or similar.
